The next step of this process was to apply to the Charles Hamilton Houston Internship Funding program and to reach out to my Barefoot College contacts to get a plan in place for the summer. And so, while I worked on applying, I reached out to current CEO Gloria Jonathan to discuss the possibilities with this internship and how I can start working projects/fundraising.
After reaching out and discussing some options on the phone, Gloria decided to introduce me to Sue Stevenson [Director of Strategic Partnerships and International Development] & Devashish Taknet [Director of Fundraising and Strategic Partnerships]. From here on out, I would be primarily be working with these two individuals during the summer and my next step was to set up a meeting with them.
